A Presentation on the Guerrilla Girls' Activism

I created keynote files for oral presentation of The Guerrilla Girls institution stratiges. The main point was: write down main points, but detailed in speech. Not to read from slides.
I am starting with the first significant point for the group, that catalyzed the birth of the group.
In the 1984 exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, titled 'An International Survey of Recent Painting and Sculpture,' the high-profile show aimed to present the most important contemporary artists worldwide. However, out of the 169 artists included, only 13 were women, and even fewer were artists of color. This significant underrepresentation highlighted systemic issues within the art world and acted as a catalyst for the establishment of the Guerrilla Girls, who emerged to combat these inequalities through activism and art
Here, I will discuss the background and how they attempted to increase their visibility.
Before the Guerrilla Girls, the 1970s and early 1980s art scene faced stark gender and racial disparities. Amidst a rising feminist art movement challenging the male-dominated sphere, major galleries and museums still largely favored male artists, sidelining female and non-white artists.
Then, I will talk about the main characteristics of activism which the Guerrilla Girls adopted to amplify their message to the audience.
After exploring the various tools they utilize, I will present a physical publication from them. This will serve as a good starting point for the discussion. Lastly, I'll include a final slide featuring the movement's webpage.
